Jema to supply Endesa X garage chargers for electric buses in Zaragoza

Endesa X will install Jema Energy’s night-time chargers in Zaragoza, which, thanks to the “Tilt-box” system, will provide greater flexibility, facilitating bus charging.

Zaragoza will give way to the works to be carried out by Endesa X, which will mean the electrification of the city’s fleet of urban buses. To this end, Endesa X will build a power line and install chargers to recharge the city buses.

For the charging system, JEMA will supply the bus chargers. All of them, except the 300kW, will have dual configuration for charging via hose and pantograph. This feature will facilitate charging the bus either via the inverted pantograph through the roof of the bus or with the conventional CCS Combo hose system. This configuration is possible thanks to the so-called “Tilt-box” system that Jema will implement at each charging station.

The “Tilt-box” system is a tilting box in which the operator can select at any time to load via hose or pantograph. The loader will automatically adapt the maximum power depending on the output system.

The scope of supply will include 37 JEMA ECI100 100kW chargers, 38 JEMA ECI150 150kW chargers, one JEMA ECI300 300kW charger, a supply and commissioning of 76 inverter pantographs and a monitoring system via 3G-4G remote communication modules.

These chargers from the ECI range are also bi-directional ready, suitable for future V2G (Vehicle to Grid), with delivery of these devices planned for mid-2022.
