STATCOM LV & MV

LV series

Reactive Power Compensator

Compensation or the reactive power control (VAR) is an essential part in a power system to minimize losses and maximize power transmission capacity and to maintain the voltage delivered. This practice is quickly becoming one of the most economical and effective solutions to solve both problems, traditional and new, in power transmission systems.

The Reactive Power Compensator LV series STATCOM designed by Jema is a three phase converter equipped with advanced IGBT technology for high performance. This system has harmonic filtering capacity which ensures a very low harmonic current THD, contributing to grid quality of your installation.

A static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) is a regulating device used on alternating current (AC) electricity transmission networks. It is based on a power electronics voltage-source converter (VSC) and can act as either a source or sink of reactive AC power to an electricity network. If connected to a source of power (e.g. batteries) it can also provide active AC power. It is a member of the FACTS family of devices.
